geode example for Sydney

I’ve updated a google maps/eateries demo I did a couple of years ago so it uses the new geolocation api included in firefoxes geode extension. Both of the people who have firefox and geode in Sydney can now marvel at geode.

ad geotargeting in a geode world

Anyone know whether any of the main advertising networks support (very) location specific advertising ? with the advent of Geode and GPS/mobile devices in general, there’s an obvious opportunity to make ads altogether more personal (useful/value for money/profitable) than they currently are.
Google claims to geotarget but I’ve not seen it do anything other than [...]

Geode extension for firefox

The good people at Mozilla have published a firefox extension which uses Skyhook style wifi lookup, together with W3C’s draft geolocation spec to tell websites whereabouts you are. Brilliant stuff. I look forward to a mobile browser version of the same.
